Find

Press ⌘ F to find words in the whole story.

• Enter goes to the next match. The node it is in opens.
• ⇧ Enter goes back to the one before.
• Esc closes it.

The box says how many it found, like 2 of 7.

To move an event or a line, cut it and paste it where it should go.

The Show menu

Long nodes get busy. Show, at the right of Reached from, changes what you see. It never changes the file.

• Characters: untick a character to hide everything they say.
• Narration, Events, Conditions, Comments: untick to hide those lines.
• Branches in full: untick to fold every set of options and every If block into one line, so the story reads straight through like a book. Click a folded line to open it.
• All nodes: shows every node one after another, instead of one at a time.
• Show every line: shows everything again.

When lines are hidden, the button says how many.

Folding

Fold the lines under the line you are on with ⌘ ⌥ [, and unfold them with ⌘ ⌥ ]. The small arrow after an option folds just that option.

Going between nodes

• Click a box on the map, or a name under Reached from.
• Click a Jump or Hop tag to open its node.
• Back and Forward go through the nodes you opened.
• The list button on the map lists every node by name (The map).

Zen Mode

Zen hides the map, the tabs and the buttons, so only the writing is left. The node’s name shows big at the top, with a list to open another node.

Press Esc or click Exit Zen to come back.

Make it easier to read

In Settings:

• Text size and Interface size.
• A font for the writing, including OpenDyslexic, made for readers with dyslexia.
• Colour each character’s lines, and colour themes for colour blindness.
